About the role

This requisition is for a Tax Manager position within Lockheed Martin Canada's Enterprise Operations Business Area. The position will be part of the Global Accounting organization supporting tax compliance for Lockheed Martin Canada. Responsibilities consistently require an attention to detail, technical analysis, communication, and a level of independent organization and prioritization of responsibilities is expected. The responsibilities of this position may include:

  • Performs tasks related to tax compliance, such as returns, extensions, forecasts, reconciliations, and tax provisions for business units including the preparation and oversight of estimated payments
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with federal and local government customers to ensure all applicable deadlines are met and any tax requirement changes are communicated and implemented promptly
  • Performs tasks specific to International (in-country) tax accounting compliance including both direct and indirect tax requirements
  • Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with internal business partners and external service providers, and interfaces with then often to ensure clear and timely communication of all tax related activity
  • Supports internal and external audits

What you bring to the role

  • Advanced knowledge of compliancy with application of Canada Tax laws and policies
  • At least 10 years of public accounting firm or large company tax department experience, considered an expert, authority in discipline
  • Active CPA, equivalent designation or Masters Degree in Accounting, or Tax
  • Strong accounting, taxation and analytical skills including solid foundation in internal controls and auditing functions
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee financial processes and complete financial and taxation requirements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and taxation regulations
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to research and resolve complex issues and to manage projects in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and leverage new technologies to better position the organization for the future
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuous learning attitude and willingness to teach others

  • Knowledge and experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (due diligence & modeling) and Joint Venture activity
