Project Manager

(Saskatoon)

The Project Manager will join OCI’s Engineering and Projects group to perform project management duties to meet the needs of the group. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading multiple and varying projects as assigned by the Project Management Supervisor.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead projects ranging in value from small projects (i.e. $50k) to medium-sized projects (>$50k to <$5M) from conception to turnover
  • Apply PMI as well as OCI-defined project management methods and strategies (Scope Management, Stakeholder Management, Schedule Management, Cost Management, Risk Management, Quality Management and Procurement Management) which are fit for purpose for individual projects with respect to scale, complexity and importance
  • Develop project management plans including costs and schedules
  • Monitor, measure and forecast project health, including KPIs and compliance, for assigned projects by working closely with stakeholders across the organization and external to the organization, including engineering consultants and construction contractors
  • Provide regular project updates to the various stakeholders
  • Work closely with E&P’s Engineering Supervisor and discipline leads in ensuring that reviews are completed for engineered drawings, equipment specifications, data sheets, or other technical documents
  • Prepare Scopes of Work (SOW) for services and material purchases
  • Review tender documents prepared by external consultants
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation, negotiation and execution of contracts
  • Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • 5-10 years of experience managing industrial greenfield and/or brownfield projects
  • Experience working within or with other small to medium scale mining and processing organizations
  • Eng Designation or combination of AScT with demonstrated Project Management Experience of similar size and complexity
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (preferred)
  • Experience with MS Project and SAP or equivalent systems (preferred)
  • Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships within all departments in an organization
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent initiatives with a variety of unique stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in executing projects at a remote location and working with operations and maintenance teams (preferred)

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

  • Saskatoon Corporate Office
  • Travel to Orano mine or project sites is required with varying frequency and duration. As in any project management position, flexibility is required due to the potential for dynamic developments and the responses these may require
