Description: Under the direction and leadership of the HSE Manager, we are seeking for a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our Camp Services department. The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and implementing HSEQ programs of all facility operations. They ensure safe environmental working conditions for all employees. They work to prevent accidents, injuries, property damage, and the adherence to all Saskatchewan Ministry of Labor Relations and Workplace Safety; Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB); Occupational Health & Safety legislation; Federal & Provincial Environmental legislation, HACCP and ISO Certification governances. The lodge industry is one of hospitality and includes cleaning, kitchen, maintenance and in some cases construction services.

The incumbent is responsible for all areas regarding site HSEQ programs, administering and continually improving the quality of service or product to ensure high client satisfaction.

Where We Work and Live: The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK. Our positions work on a 14 day on, 14 days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.

Hourly Wage: $33.00

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight and direction to support operations HSEQ needs of management, staff and customers of the Facility and Lodge.
  • Mentor managers and leads on how to facilitate effective toolbox, and HSEQ program initiatives
  • Lead and arrange regular management reviews of the lodge performance as it adheres to key performance indicators
  • Good knowledge of Environmental impact assessment, inspections and monitoring as well as regional Recycling Program
  • Lead team and trend all aspects of the corporate and lodge HSEQ programs including Safe initiatives, BBS and Near Miss Observation behaviors, orientation, coordinating training, case management, inspections, incident investigation and reporting
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of all policies, procedures, and processes to enhance the delivery of HSEQ initiatives at the lodge
  • Responsible for compiling and preparing reports of performance data, HSE system requirements, and other requested reports from Head Office
  • Travel may be required to ensure all HSEQ obligations for this position are met
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health policies, programs, and procedures
  • Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety requirements by all site personnel
  • Ensure that investigations into injuries, accidents and unsafe acts and conditions are properly conducted, causal factors identified and appropriate corrective actions identified
  • Manage operational risks through qualitative risk assessments tools such as Fault Tree Analysis

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • A University degree or College diploma in hotel/accommodation management and/or HSE certifications
  • Industry experience, post-secondary certification or advanced technical training in a related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • QA/QC certifications or experience is an asset
  • ISO 9001:2015 or experience building a quality management system
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience in construction site or facilities management business is preferred
  • Organizational, time management, and report writing skills a necessity
  • Coach and mentor relevant departmental managers, supervisors, workers and contractor on legislative requirements as they relate to Critical Tasks
  • Can work independently with limited direction; utilize latitude in an educated approach in determining objectives and approaches to assignments in reaching goals

Final candidates will be required to undergo a government security clearance check.
