The Keethanow Group of Businesses Department is now accepting applications for the following Permanent Part-Time Position based out of La Ronge:

Baker

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  • Work with a positive, professional approach and attitude toward public & employees
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prepare, wrap, price and stock product as required and assigned
  • Maintain and display all types of meat and/or bakery products according to standards
  • Provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperatures and clean equipment regularly
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the Health & Safety Guides and Government legislation
  • Advise the supervisor when orders for replenishment of inventory is required and to keep proper mark-down reports
  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
  • Bake mixed doughs and batters
  • Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
  • Ensure quality of products meets established standards
  • Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
  • Purchase baking supplies
  • May oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
  • May hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (preferred)
  • Must have WHIMIS/Food Safety Handling certificates
  • Minimum of three months experience in retail
  • Can follow detailed written or verbal instructions precisely
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety dress-codes
  • Mindful of food expiry policy
  • Willing to participate in all necessary training programs
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Basic level of bakery knowledge is required
