We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Team Leader at Meadow Lake Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Division, located in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Meadow Lake employs 155 employees and safely and sustainably produces 730 million square feet of OSB every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.


Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience leading teams of 5 or more (including apprentices) in an industrial production environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of OSB manufacturing, continuous process operations, maintaining large industrial machinery and 24-hour operations.
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical conveying systems.
  • Completed mechanical training through an Industrial Mechanic, Machinist apprenticeship, or a technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Holding a Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification would give you an extra edge.


In this role you will:

  • Develop and empower your team to deliver results.
  • Apply organization and planning skills to schedule, coordinate, and direct mechanical resources. This includes the coordination of parts, materials, special tools and equipment.
  • Use your problem-solving skills and knowledge of root cause analysis to support your team in finding solutions to and efficiencies in maintenance and production.
  • Lead by example and provide feedback and support to ensure that your team completes proper documentation for work performed and adheres to work rules, policies and safety procedures.
  • Use your interpersonal and communication skills to build and engage an efficient team and work collaboratively with other departments to maximize the productivity of equipment, people and resources.
  • Be available for on-call duty on a scheduled rotation.
