Job Description: As a member of the team and under the general direction of the Manager, this position is accountable for the day to day operations of the department including program development, implementation, delivery and evaluation, supervision of team members, clinical case management, professional training, community education and development. The position requires the use of high order knowledge, clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to coach, mentor, orientate and provide education to the team members. Drawing on standards of practice for case management, professional codes of ethics and standards of practice in health care, program policy and procedures and, relevant legislation, the incumbent will ensure that the team provides high quality client service and standards of practice are maintained.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates strong supervisory and interpersonal skills. A strong knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency/co-dependency and its effect on the family unit. Individual, group and crisis intervention/stabilization counselling skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Knowledge of group dynamics and facilitation skills. Strong knowledge of Policies and Procedures established by Addiction Services, Mental Health Services Act, Holistic Addiction Treatment Model, the Transtheoretical Model of Change and the Developmental Model of Recovery (SMRS). Knowledge of best practices in addiction field and harm reduction strategies. Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field. Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients. Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Knowledge of and ability to monitor and assess withdrawal symptoms related to substance use. Efficient computer skills.
