Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, coordinating with engineers and vendors to ensure all project aspects are aligned. They also manage resources, oversee compliance with regulations, and ensure that project goals are met efficiently.

Essential Functions

  • Determine and document the interfaces between design, procurement, construction, and permitting.
  • Participate in project schedule management planning.
  • Understand and assist in the development of execution plans from a time and resourcing perspective.
  • Create and update field installation work packages.
  • Review equipment and compare the actual condition against vendor and engineering documents
  • Assist the project team to identify tasks with low productivity that incur higher costs than budgeted.
  • Interact daily with construction management and superintendents
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, design consultants, commissioning agents, and client consultants to achieve optimum schedule management and client satisfaction.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • 5+ years of Planning experience in the required field (industrial or infrastructure).
  • PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, EIT, P.Eng., CCDA, and/or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation is an asset.
  • Experience working on a least one project from initiation to closeout.
  • Direct exposure to the construction industry is required.
  • General Contractor experience is an asset.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 is an asset.
  • Experience with model integration and 3D scheduling is an asset.
  • Ability to learn project-specific software as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Working Conditions

  • This role is site-based
  • This role requires 10 hour work days and rotational shift work.
  • Overtime is compensated
