Job Description: Project Management and Planning Specialists are responsible for performing various key functions within the Infrastructure Management portfolio. The Project Management and Planning Specialists will consult and engage with senior leadership to provide planning and project management services across SHA. These services include; scope development, feasibility, estimating/budgeting, risk analysis, scheduling, drawing production code reviews, infection control requirements, staging, commissioning, project reporting, approvals processes and financial management/financial tracking. The Project Management and Planning Specialists are responsible for managing projects between $200,000 to $100 Million+ that facilitate the provision of quality client-centred service in accordance with the vision, mission, values and goals of the SHA. They ensure that departmental service delivery objectives as defined by standards or the business case, concerning space, spatial relationships, and equipment and furnishings are integrated into the functional programming and design process. They ensure requirements of user groups are translated into working drawings and conversely explaining preliminary drawings and specifications to user groups. The specialists are the critical communication link between management, physicians, user groups and staff for provincial project teams. They are the lead on various construction projects and represent the owner on the job site, at inspections, and at job site meetings. They ensure review of all aspects of construction work and maintain records of construction and contract activity.

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years' experience developing and leading innovative projects.

Education

  • Project Management certificate
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Interior Design
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Architectural Engineering
  • Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Facilities Engineering Technology
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
