The community of Yorkton is seeking family physicians to join the primary health care team. These positions provide an opportunity to practice primary care within an innovative, multi-disciplinary team setting. As a member of the clinic team, services provided include primary care, addictions medicine, acute/long term care, regional obstetrics support services, after hours call, etc.
The successful candidate must thrive in a collaborative team based setting and have a focus on continuous quality improvement with a goal of improving care and access for all clients. OAT services are provided at this clinic and the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the OAT program and obtain the necessary requirements to become a prescriber of buprenorphine/naloxone and methadone. It is expected that the successful candidate will participate as a part of the larger physician group to provide regional services offered in Yorkton (i.e., obstetrics support services, ER coverage, hospitalist, etc.)
The physician must have the capacity to assume care of an already established practice if applicable.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. Although not mandatory, we trust that the successful candidate will become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area and we will support your application for an appointment with the University of Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate may be eligible for the SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000
