About this opportunity:

Cenovus is currently seeking a Crude Supply Manager in Dublin, OH to lead the economic selection and optimization of crude delivery to its three US Assets (Lima, Superior, and Toledo Refineries). This role involves leading a Supply team and working with multi-locational teams to increase enterprise value in the short-term (0-4 month) planning space.

What you'll do:

  • Accountable for economic selection and optimization of 400KBD+ of crude delivery, at a value exceeding $10 Billion USD per year (Toledo, Lima, Superior Refineries).
  • Leading a Supply team, coordinating with market-facing TSL in providing crude availability and pricing (including working capital considerations) for LP (Linear Program) model optimization and crude ordering in the short-term (0-3 month) Operating Plan development
  • Lead Crude Supply Ordering (including crude switching values and refinery values), Scheduling (increasing historical pipeline and long-term strategic value), and Operating (working with Refinery scheduling) coordination in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Comfort with risk-based decisions, even with incomplete information.
  • Coordinate with the Crude Quality team to provide technical assurance and monitor the delivered quality of crudes in our system to improve refinery value in purchasing strategy while also informing safe operating limits for Refinery crude units.

Who you are:

  • 12+ years' experience in oil & gas, refining or production planning/economics or scheduling
  • Intermediate to advanced technical understanding of crude quality, refinery constraints, production planning / Crude supply chain
  • Intermediate to Advanced LP Model Interpretation (model running not required)
  • Strong collaborator and communicator with the ability to analyze complex information and present findings

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex information & details, and present findings in a clear concise format
  • Experience with liquid commodities
  • Price fundamentals, risk-based decision-making, and risk management knowledge will be an asset
  • Intermediate understanding of trading fundamentals, market structure
