About this opportunity:

Cenovus Commercial Downstream is hiring a Principal, US Production & Planning for our Toledo and Lima Refineries based out of our Columbus, OH office. The role can be located in Houston, TX or any of our US-based refinery locations (Lima, OH; Toledo, OH, Superior, WI). You will report to the VP, Refining Supply & Optimization and collaborate closely with Refinery Commercial & Production Teams, Commercial Managers at sites, Refinery GMs, and Senior Leaders within the Downstream Organization.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver short-term (M0) optimization of refineries in months and M0 plan execution with Refinery commercial teams.
  • Integration of decision-making on production plans between Lima and Toledo in-month.
  • Handle all hydrocarbon flow integration and optimization activities within each refinery and across the OH network within this scope while achieving results by influence and credibility.
  • Manage optimizations under the scope of this role ranging from US $50-150 million per year.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • 15+ years' experience working in supply and refinery optimization/economic analysis and production planning or related experience.
  • Deep understanding of refining technologies and ways to optimize and extract the maximum value of the refinery units.

Preferred:

  • High collaboration and influential skills.
  • Use of data and logic to recommend solutions.
  • Clear understanding of operational and commercial risk/reward.
  • Understand the interconnectedness of process units inside a refinery and logistics system and the capabilities to leverage them.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of economics and marginal analysis, break-even economics, and commercial/operational risks and rewards.
