We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team as a Building Maintenance Worker. This position performs ongoing monitoring, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and associated systems required to maintain the environment of Government owned and occupied buildings in order to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of building occupants and users in the most cost-effective manner possible.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience working in remote communities.
  • Experience working with or for First Nation groups would be an asset
  • Experience inspecting, maintaining or operating a variety of carpentry, plumbing, heating and electrical systems, as well as other building maintenance work would be considered an asset
  • Experience diagnosing trouble in all types of building systems and determining the proper method, tools, supplies and equipment for maintenance or repair would be considered an asset


Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following conditions of employment and job requirements:

  • Valid Yukon Class 5 driver's licence
  • Obtain and maintain a valid R.C.M.P. Vulnerable Sector check security clearance
  • Travel may be required
  • Possible shift work (Nights/Weekends)
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment
