This is a permanent, full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

This position is responsible for directing and leading the development, implementation, evaluation and overall management of the Yukon Geological Survey's programs and services, including the delivery of scientific and technical data and services which requires the collection, analysis, interpretation and communication of geoscience information. This position is a key member of the Mineral Resources and Geoscience Services branch and as part of the division management team and provides support to the Assistant Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister.

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in Earth Science or related field;
  • Significant management experience, leading and providing strategic advice, direction and recommendations on complex projects and initiatives involving First Nations, federal, provincial or territorial governments, preferably in a government setting;
  • Recent and significant experience managing human and financial resources;
  • Experience with mining industry and exploration, preferably within Yukon Territory;
  • Experience with technical writing as demonstrated by a list of publications in resume.

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
