We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This position reports to the Manager, Business & Development, and is responsible for planning and managing assigned aviation-related projects through all project stages to successful completion. The Transportation Aviation Branch is responsible for the management, planning, development, operation and maintenance of the Yukon Territory Aviation System which includes the Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport (ENWIA), four community airports and 23 aerodromes. Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, architecture, resource management, environmental management, planning, business management or a related field;
  • Experience successfully delivering complex projects, including projects with substantial client service and regulatory compliance considerations, projects where regular operations must be maintained and supported throughout project execution, etc.;
  • Experience in environmental management, including delivering related projects; AND/OR experience in land use planning, land development, and/or land management including delivering related projects;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or substantial coursework in Project Management including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK);
  • Experience and/or substantial coursework in an aviation-related field is an asset; and
  • Experience and/or substantial coursework in Computer Assisted Drafting and Design (preferred platform: AutoCAD) and/or Geographic Information Systems (preferred platform: ArcGIS) are assets.


Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

  • Experience motivating, coordinating and leading interdisciplinary project teams; and
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, successfully adapt to change and effectively manage priorities in a highly-regulated, fast-paced work environment;

Additional information

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment and job requirements:

  • class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
  • transportation security clearance (TSC) (to be met within 3 months of hire)
  • restricted area identification card (RAIC) (to be met within 3 months of hire)

Job Requirements:

  • Travel and mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
