We are currently seeking a talented, dedicated individual to help lead our Facilities Management team. The Superintendent, Central Maintenance and is based in the city of Whitehorse, Yukon and serves communities located in Southern Yukon between Carmacks and Swift River while working with colleagues in other regions to support clients across the territory.

This role leads a diverse team of tradespeople, providing strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance. If successful, you will focus on fostering a positive work environment where employees can grow and succeed in supporting the members of their communities. Balancing expertise in people management with knowledge of building maintenance will be essential in driving the team's success, ensuring effective operations, and maintaining high standards of service.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Experience leading a large, operationally diverse team.
  • Experience managing financial resources (i.e. budgeting, forecasting, planning, reviewing financial data).
  • Experience in building maintenance or other related fields, with a solid understanding of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Experience researching and analyzing information and making decisions or recommendations to senior leadership.
  • A history of advancing client relations both within and externally to an organization.
  • Facilities Management Certification and/or Journeyperson certification in a building trade (i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry) will be considered an asset.


Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment and job requirements:

  • class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
  • travel throughout Yukon
